Over 3,400 tons of surplus food are sent to landfills in Hong Kong every day - the equivalent to the weight of a double-decker bus every six minutes. At the same time, over one million people struggle for enough food for their meals.

70 CR members and their families recently participated in the Bread Run event hosted by Feeding Hong Kong. Our volunteers collected surplus bread from bakeries across Hong Kong near closing time and bring them to the collecting point at Yau Tong, which will then be distributed by Feeding Hong Kong to local charities for those in need. In just one night, with concerted efforts from our volunteers, we have collected over 800 loaves of bread, effectively diverting them from ending up in the landfill.
